Top terror leader reportedly killed in Indonesia

BEJI, Indonesia (AP) – Southeast Asia’s most wanted terror suspect was reportedly killed during a 16-hour siege on a suspected militant hide-out that ended Saturday when police stormed the house, but officials said they could not yet confirm he was among the dead. Local TV stations reported militant chief Noordin Mohammad Top, who is blamed for last month’s attacks on two American hotels in the capital, Jakarta, as well as bombings on the resort island of Bali, was killed in the bathroom of the house in a rice-growing village in central Java province following a lengthy bomb and gun battle. Indonesian Film Gets Top Honors at Korean Fest

An Indonesian movie has won the top prize at South Korea?s Puchon International Fantastic Film Festival.

Joko Anwar?s ?Pintu Terlarang? (?The Forbidden Door?) claimed the Best of Puchon prize. The film tells the story of a successful sculptor who stumbles upon a horrifying case of child abuse.

Indonesia?s Shareefa Daanish won the Best Actress award for her role in the film ?Macabre.?

The festival focuses on the thriller, mystery, fantasy and horror genres. This year it screened 202 feature-length, short, live-action and animation films from 41 countries.

Organizers praised the local movie scene on the festival?s website, http://www.pifan.com/
